START: Yew Tree Heath (SU 36420 06380) 1 From Yew Tree Heath car park take the grassy track going north east which heads downhill. 2 On meeting another track, turn right. Follow this track through the gorse bushes and heather. 3 When you reach some trees, turn right along a grassy track. 4 Cross the gravel track which leads to Aldermoor Lodge and continue through the trees until you get to Beaulieu River. 5 Cross the river by the road bridge (SU 38005 06799) then continue until you reach the track to Ipley Manor. 6 Cross over the tarmac road and take the path through the trees which runs parallel to the river.
8 Cross this stream where you can and continue along the edge of the trees until you reach a cross roads (SU 38165 06095). Turn left and follow the path in an easterly direction. 9 Cross the tarmac road and continue through the heather. Where the track splits into three, take the path to the right. 10 You will eventually reach a wooden bridge across a marshy area. After the bridge, take the track to the right heading towards the edge of the trees. 11 When you reach the trees (SU 39720 05920), take the path off to the left through the trees. 12 You will enter a clearing surrounded by silver birch trees. At a cross roads turn right along a grassy track which follows the edge of the trees. 13 After following the track that curves round the edge of the inclosure, you will meet a wider gravel track. Turn right. 14 Don't follow the track round to the left but take the path through the trees that carries straight on. 15 Continue following the main track that veers off to the right; do not turn left. 16 When you reach a cross roads, turn right and take the path heading downhill. Follow the track as it goes along the edge of Crabhat Inclosure. Continue walking between the two inclosures. 17 At a forest track, turn left. Go through the inclosure gate and follow the track straight through the trees. 18 At a gate cross the tarmac road and enter the woods (there is a path a little to the left) and walk parallel to the river and road. You may encounter bogs so it may be easier to walk along the road. 19 When you arrive at North Gate car park, take the path out of the car park that goes parallel to the road. 20. Just before the entrance to Beaulieu Estate, there is a track off to the right. Follow this track and cross the bridge (SU 38420 04670) over the Beaulieu River. 21 Head in a straight line across the plain following the edge of the trees. 22 Carry on walking between the trees and gorse bushes. Where the gorse bushes end, head straight on across the plain towards the telegraph wires. Keep going west and you should eventually reach a track running through the gorse bushes. 23.You will reach a gravel track. Carry straight on across through the trees towards the road. 24 On reaching another gravel track, turn left towards the tarmac road. Cross the road to arrive at Culverley car park.
