A circular off-road walk around the New Forest in ten stages
|
Anne's New Forest Ramble is a circular walk around the New Forest on the south coast of England. The path passes through many different forest landscapes and uses off-road paths and tracks for almost all the route - there is hardly any traffic or tarmac on this walk. There are 10 stages, each between 5 and 8 miles long. The total length is 55 miles (88 km). The full route listed here starts and finishes in Brockenhurst and passes Sway, Burley, Ringwood, Fordingbridge, Fritham and Lyndhurst (but you can start and finish anywhere on the circuit, of course). Click on the numbered Virtual Walks at the bottom of this page to find out more about the ramble. For each stage, there are maps, photographs, GPS downloads, grid references and detailed walk instructions. Anne's New Forest Ramble was conceived in Spring 2006 to raise money for charity, and it has earned over £1200 for two charities. Sponsorship is still very welcome.
